Action Planning

In order to help us put our plan into action we propose to:

Continue to develop our road safety education, especially at KS1.
Explore opportunities for all children to be involved in role play situations that underline the message of road safety.
Invite appropriate visitors into school to talk to the children about road safety.
Continue to be involved with Crucial Crew.
Continue our ‘road safety walks’ for younger children and develop similar strategies for older children through PSHE.
Continue to take an active part in Walk to School Week and encourage non-driving days on a regular basis.
Publicise this travel plan on the school website and ensure that all parents know how to access a copy.
Devote staff meeting time to discuss the issue of road safety with all school staff.
Invite local authority road safety personnel to work with us on a regular basis.
Display both commercially produced and pupil produced posters around the school and staff room and anywhere where pupils and/or parents can access them.
Provide shelter for those children who arrive early for school on wet weather days.
We do not feel that there is anything preventing us from putting this plan into action

Monitoring and Review:

The school travel plan will be referred to in the School Development Plan, as an item on the termly agenda for Governors’ Meetings. It will also be published on the school website. All parents, pupils and staff will be made aware of the plan and how they can access it.
