What we want to achieve in respect of travel to and from Wyburns:

  To reduce the unnecessary numbers of cars used for the school journey when there is a safe and appropriate alternative.
  To encourage children in the healthy pursuit of walking to school.
  To encourage children and parents to talk and discuss everyday events on their journey to school.
  To expose children (under the supervision of their parents) to the hazards of the streets and thereby improve their personal safety skills (street-wise).
  To encourage parents who live some distance away from the school to consider driving only part of the way and parking at a reasonable walking distance from the school.
  To reduce traffic congestion in Nevern Road.
  To reduce the incidence of inconsiderate (and sometimes illegal) parking in Nevern Road.
  Increase the use of public transport and improve personal safety skills.
  To work with local partners to find solutions to our road safety problems.
  To ensure that the whole community works together to take ownership of and ensure the success and long term sustainability of this travel plan.
  We would like to provide some shelter for children who arrive early for school during dad weather.
